Game Worlds
Game Worlds is an award-winning STEM education program that turns kids’ passion for playing games into a love of building them!
Our summer camp sessions are an intense but exciting one-week experience in which children ages 8-18 create a fully-functional video game prototype from start to finish. Working in teams of 3-6, students collaborate on coding, level design, art, and sound engineering, all of which are taught from the ground up within a flexible curriculum that expands to accommodate the skills they've mastered. On the last day of the week, students deliver a pitch presentation of their game to a panel of professional game developers, and receive relevant feedback on their work. Over 10 years of operation, we're proud to say that we've seen many former students go on to get jobs in the game industry--and of course we're especially happy when they return and serve as Friday judges for the next generation.
Our after-school programs are a once-a-week, semester-long opportunity to dive deeper into a particular skill or piece of software used at camp. This can include digital art programs like Krita, Photoshop, and Blender, or professional coding tools like Unity and Unreal 3D. We also offer smaller workshops on adjacent subjects our students are often interested in, such as 3D Printing.
Our social clubs offer a chance for kids to use their love of gaming to make friends and "find their people." We have specialized meetups for Dungeons & Dragons, Minecraft, anime, and more! We also offer laid back one-week "chill sessions" during Winter Break and Spring Break, to help keep kids meaningfully engaged while school is out for the holidays.
Finally, our Game Nights are a one-off opportunity to play games and eat pizza for a few hours while Mom & Dad take a much-deserved night off. They're also a great chance to come check us out before committing to a longer program!
